Fire safety training for officials and special training for employees engaged in work with increased fire danger

According to Article 40 of the Code of Civil Protection of Ukraine and the Procedure for Training the Population to Act in Emergency Situations, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Resolution dated 26.06.2013  No. 444, “ECB “Civil Protection” LLC agreed with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Training program on fire safety for officials of enterprises, institutions and organizations and Special training program ( fire-technical minimum) for employees employed in jobs with increased fire danger. The programs are valid until December 29, 2021.

What does training on fire safety of officials of enterprises, institutions and organizations and training on the technical minimum entail?

The purpose of its implementation is to increase the general fire-technical knowledge of employees, to teach them the rules of fire safety taking into account the fire-hazardous features of production, to familiarize them more deeply with fire-fighting measures and actions in the event of a fire, to develop skills in the use of primary fire-extinguishing means.

Who needs it?

Article 40 of the Civil Protection Code of Ukraine stipulates that training the working population in emergency situations is mandatory and is carried out during working hours at the expense of the employer.

Items 15, 16 of Section II of the NAPB A.01.001-2014 “Rules of Fire Safety in Ukraine” define that persons who are hired for work related to increased fire danger must first (before starting independent work) pass special training (fire-technical minimum), as well as officials and employees undergo training and testing of knowledge on fire safety in accordance with the procedure established by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of June 26, 2013 N 444 “On Approval of the Procedure for Training the Population in Emergency Situations” .

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 444 dated 26.06.2013 (in particular, paragraph 16) stipulates that:

• Officials, before starting their duties and periodically (once every three years), undergo training and testing of knowledge on fire safety issues.
• persons who are hired for work related to increased fire danger must first undergo special training (fire-technical minimum).
• employees employed in jobs with increased fire danger are tested once a year for knowledge of normative acts on fire safety.
